can you balance transfer, to your Friends credit card? (another person ?)

When having a debt on my somebodies credit card (family, or friend)

and you want to pay off that debt using a balance transfer.

so My credit card, (balance transfer) to somebody else’s credit card

-ie the name on their card is different to the name on my card,

then is that fine to do? or can you only do balance transfers to cards of yourself? (which have your name on)

In general, no.

In reality, probably yes. The terms of the CC you're doing the BT from almost certainly say you can only BT into the same name. But if they only ask for the card number and don't ask to see statements then you can probably get away with a BT to another name.

Must be some friend that is prepared to take the debt off you..... And be responsible for paying it.

Most cards allow you to balance transfer between accounts in different names. Santander don't and maybe some others. I've done it a few times with different CCs

I have done that in the past, a few years ago now so it could have changed. That was from Natwest to a virgin credit card in separate names.
