My Bit of Fun with N Power Rep.
Options
Yesterday I had a pleasant N Power rep come to the door like they all do periodically. He did the usual "try to bamboozle with facts and figures" and it did seem very tempting on what he said. But I am not a moneysaving expert reader for nothing. I told him to leave his literature and tariffs and I would go over them at my leisure. Like most of them they were only in the area for a day or two and he asked to come back later in the evening. I said he could but there would be no guarantee I would be finished. Anyway, as I have become a bit of a dab hand at working things out by now I was able to soon suss out he had carefully omitted that the figures were based on 2 tiers, the higher tier being just over double the lower tier. So by the time everything was worked out, even after taking their "stay with us for a year to get your £80" discount, it worked out I would be paying more than over a hundred pounds more. I naughtily took great delight in pointing this out when he came back, especially saying how disappointed I was he hadn't pointed out the higher tariff. He went on to spout about the lack of standing charge and the wonderful £80 discount yet again, but eventually had to admit defeat with my A4 piece of paper with handiwork.
I suppose the moral of the story is, always be on your guard for missed out bits of information, and have a bit of fun after your time as a "moneysaving expert!:rotfl:
