Redundancy whilst on reduced work.

My company is making about 50 of us redundant next week. I spoke to CAB for advice who told me that I couldnt be made redundant whilst I was off work with a sick note. I'm waiting for surgery on an injury that restricts my ability to get in to the clean environment I work in. When my sick note ran out my doctor signed me a fit to work note with the restriction that my job be moved out of the clean environment so I could sit at a desk and do it. This has been done and I'm now doing reduced hours and have a reduced job role until after my surgery. Do I count as fit to work or do I still count as sick as I'm technically not doing my job role? I really dont want to be made redundant as its going to be about six months until I can work again and I cant afford to be out of work for that long!

Seems like your doctor's good dead has left you vulnerable.
What rules does your company follow in selecting candidates for redundancy?
i.e. some look at a points system where your sickness absenteeism would score high others are strictly last in first out."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I think cab may be wrong being sick does not stop redundancy selection.
I would focus on the selection criteria and how they are going to pool you, normal job cuurent temp job.
If selected check the criteria used for redundancy payments you may be entitled to this to be based on the normal full pay not the temp pay,0
