in Credit cards
Hi,
can any one help? I purchased a stihl stone saw on a credit card in july 2011 ,they where pinched from my van in september of the same year i reported it to the police etc and have a crime number.
my insurance policy would not cover the theft for the 'its in the small print bit!' so i lost any chance of recovering the cost as i still had to pay the credit card.
however, i have read that section 75 may be applicable ? does any one think that it would be possible to get the money back from them under section 75 rules??????
has any one come across this before ? or would i be to late.....
cheers

AFAIK sect 75 is to cover for goods/services not provided or where you cant get a vaild refund from the supplier, why does your insurance not cover it?0

No, s75 is not an insurance policy. It allows you to make a claim on the CC if you are let down by the merchant if the item is over £100.0

I believe some credit card providers offer a short term insurance as part of their service, maybe 90 days or so. But that's entirely up to your lender.
Maybe that's what you're thinking about so, unfortunately, Section 75 won't help you here.

That would be the "don't leave stuff of value in a vehicle" clause.my insurance policy would not cover the theft for the 'its in the small print bit!'
Seems reasonable.
Long shot - would your home insurance cover it?0
