Economy 7 Meter
Hi
I have an economy 7 meter in my new property.
Problem is the night reading doesn't work.
Dont know if this is the meter that's the problem or if nothing is connected to that part of it?
Now, ive just transferred my old EDF tarrif over to the new property.
Will this old (non economy 7) tarrif, stay as it was on the new house, or will they convert it to an economy 7 equivalent?
If it stays the same, fine. if not, would they supply me with a new non eco7 meter? as obviously its defective!
Thankyou

I would check first with existing supplier to see if its been changed to single rate tariff, unless you ve got night storage meters in, or intend to use at least 30% of your total electric in the cheap rate hours you dont want to be on an eco 7 day and night tariff . If its a single rate tariff you would just be recording the Total reading on meter, see if that moves through the night0

I had to sign up to british gas when i moved in as they wouldnt allow the move otherwise.
They specifically stated it would be an eco7 tarrif

Call your current supplier.
They will sort out any issue you think exists with the meter and will advise you as to which tariff you are currently being billed on
If the meter does prove to be currently faulty, then you may find your previous supplier will re-bill you for the energy consumed but not correctly charged to you. It could even be that you are due a rebate from the previous supplier, depending on the nature of any fault found.
