Software for students is without doubt one of the best resources for it!
I think they barter deals with the companies themselves that you can't get direct!0 -
LibreOffice is a free office application suite that you might want to download. It's not fully compatible with MS Office, but most commonly-used features are available. You can open MS Office files with LibreOffice and vice versa (although, as I said, certain features won't be supported).I think they barter deals with the companies themselves that you can't get direct!
Blimey! A company that does business without money?! That is old school! "Who'll give me a copy of Office for this lovely homemade pie?!"

Similarly, I use Open Office, which is free and open sourced. It does perfectly well for stuff like writing essays, but it can struggle a bit if you want total compatibility between it and PowerPoint.
You may also like to take a look at SkyDrive, which gives you access to a free cloud-based version of Office, although not all the features are there; I've recently been using it for collaboration on a group work project, and it has worked quite well for that.0 -
Thanks to all with have a look at all suggestions0

If you are at university, you can get your software from onthehub.com -- you can use your .ac.uk e-mail address or use a special link if your administrator has sent you one. Microsoft Office University 2010 costs £69.99 (cheaper than software4students).
There's a lot of totally free Microsoft software available too, including Windows 7 and 8 and Visual Studio.0 -
As others have pointed out you don't need to buy an office suite, there are plenty of free ones out there."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
!!!!!! is all that about?0 -
