Too many likes

I'm not sure if this has been raised before but I can't find it.Facebook in their infinite wisdom have banned me from "liking" anything anything-they claim for indiscriminate use.I liked three times one day, four two days before-in one month I counted back a total of 19 likes.I love entering competitions but so many are now FB based that I am now effectively barred.FB say the ban can last from a few hours or be permanent but refuse to reply as to what timescale my punishment is nor do they have any guidelines-as they admit themselves-as to what constitutes too many likes.I've checked on forums and it can be as few as 5.How can you like too often?I've now been out of the loop 2 weeks and have no idea when or if I'll be allowed in again.

I'm sure I've done more liking than that so I think it must be semi-random or we would all be banned by now! :eek:0

Me too. This is one of the reasons I dislike FB and have started using Twitter. Why on earth would a business stop people from using the facilities they offer such as 'liking'. Isn't the 'like' button there to be used? They should stop companies from breaking their rules and asking people to like and share ...0 -
Have just received more details from FB.It seems any more than 3 likes a day (even on one occasion) constitutes abuse-they are working their way through "offenders" who will suffer the same fate as me.I had no warning that I was breaking a rule which seems ridiculous anyway.0

That's me stuffed then. Especiallly when they spot the mse in the middle of my name. Which unfortunately I can't change as I didn't realise there was a limit on the number of name changes when I was playing around one day.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I never heard of a restriction on liking I'm sure I regulary like 20+ some days on f/b. It seems a bit random, I sometimes worry about how many posts I share. I shut down my normal facebook just to have a comping one.
If I get banned I will have to overtake my hubby's f/b account lol.
Hope its sorted soon for the advents.0 -
See how niave I am about FB didn't think to set up a separate one for comping
Thanks0 -
Coolcruiser be careful having a separate account for comping. Many duplicate and fake accounts are closed without warning with the proper account also being shut£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

One thing that I'd like to know is how many people actually check that you are still 'liking' them when drawing winners. Every now and again I 'unlike' everything to keep the account clean.
How many people here have a facebook account with thousands of spurious 'likes', separate to their main facebook account? Or do people use their actual facebook account and fill their timeline with rubbish spam from every promoter under the sun?0 -
Perhaps they'll ban people who make too many comments next. Seems to defeat the whole idea of FB - if they're that picky they should get rid of all the annoying adverts too. But then they have fallen flat on their FBs by launching as a public company and completely lost the plot0

Had second thoughts about this... I wonder if the companies that ask people to 'like' them know about this policy - I'm sure there would be an outcry because it effectively blocks 'liking' as a marketing strategy. Would it be an idea to advise comp organisers that this is what is happening?0
