hi
just looking for some curtains in our new home (only have net curtains at the moment and it's getting a bit cold now!:o)
i measured the window drops and they all are around 110 cm. and the problem is that none of the companies i looked for do a drop or less than 137 cm. made to measure will be quite costly!
anyone know of any place to buy readymade curtains with less than 137 cm drop?

2nd hand curtains off eBay are very cheap, I picked up a pair for the patio doors at less than £6 so even with alterations you're ahead.
thanks. will try to see if there is a local shop who can do alterations!0 -
Don't mean to be rude, but in the interests of moneysaving - it's REALLY not difficult to chop a few inches off the ready-mades and hem them up again by hand. You could even stick the hems up with that sticky tape stuff that you iron on. Have you got a friend or relly with a sewing machine? If so, get a bottle of wine and make an evening of it ...0

This...but start the wine after the hemming lest you end up with wobbly curtain bottoms0 -
are you going to close them?
if not you can use tie backs and drape them tastefully and it is alos very fashionable to now "puddle" curtains on the floor, or if you really cannot bear them puddling along the floor cut off the bottom and hem with wundaweb.0 -

The sticky tape will make the hem area too rigid and the base of the curtains will not fold up properly.0 -
have a look at Mostyns ready made you have an option to have them shortened for a set price so you can have the exact length without the cost of made to measure0

Why don't you raise your curtain rail by 27cm0

thanks for your replies.
to answer the points raised:
1) cant raise the rail by 27cm as there isn't that much space
2) dont have any friend who has sewing machine.
3) will look at mostyn's .0 -
