to be honest its not great for under £100 i would be looking at
http://www.ebuyer.com/407319-sumvision-cyclone-voyager-tablet-pc-cycvoy7
or
http://www.amazon.co.uk/NATPC-M009S-Dual-Android-Tablet/dp/B007WEZTSA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1354211059&sr=8-2
the extra £15 gets a better screen resolution but other than that they are pretty much the same
for 10 inch one of the better of the cheap options is http://www.ebuyer.com/392404-sumvision-titan-tablet-pc-titan-9 orDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
You really need to try these things out before buying one.
Too many knocking around now seem to tick all the right boxes but within seconds you can hate it if it has an unresponsive touch screen or sluggish operation.0 -
Pop down your local curry's, our small one has them all on show to try out, I'd stick to brands like Apple, Google Nexus, Samsung, Asus0

I was so excited about getting my kindle fire and pleased that it fired up straight awya, but really found it too small. I hated the touch screen keyboard, not as responsive as I wanted, being a touch typist, it has to be a first time touch and it wasnt, trying to get these pages to change Ie going from page 1 to page 3 my fingers were touching 1, 2 and 3 lol, i didnt want a pointer thing, really disappointed and its going back.
Definitely go to a shop and try one, then go home and order exactly what you will be happy with.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
More expensive BFWIW I would recommend Nexus 7."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

I am totally bamboozled by all the different ones available. I have a budget of £100 max for a 12 year old - was thinking of either the a1cs fusion economy for £85 http://www.amazon.co.uk/A1CS-FUSION5-9-1-ECONOMY-TABLET/dp/B009B0C0KI/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_tor the a1cs rapid5 for £80 -http://www.amazon.co.uk/A1CS-RAPID5®-DUAL-CORE-1-4-TABLET/dp/B009ON0NF6/ref=pd_cp_computers_3.
Anybody any thoughts please ?0 -
For a 7 inch tablet it's got to be the Nexus 7. Unless your budget runs to an iPad Mini.No free lunch, and no free laptop

.. and if it does buy the Nexus and use the change for something elseUnless your budget runs to an iPad Mini.
I bought my wife the original iPad but I don't like the Apple lockin and as I had an Android phone I tried two different cheap tablets which were both disappointing. I love the Nexus 7 though.0 -
thanks for replies - but I've rely got to stick to under £100. Any ohter thoughts on my two choices - trying to find something decent which comes from a decent uk company in case there are any problems.0

depends if you need a bigger screen, as the bigger screen one has lower overal 'other' spec in that its got less ram, lower powered cpu and no hdmi output, the other one is better specced but has a low res screen at 800x480,
if you have a quick look at the ones i posted earlier in the thread, the sumivision one is basically the same as the rapid 5 but without the need for the £5 delivery charge, and of course comes from ebuyer which is quite a big company, and the natpc one is similar but has a higher screen res at 1024x600 (and if the seller seems to get good reviews)Drop a brand challenge
