This is my 1st post as i am new to this site but somebody has told me that i can get good advice on here.
My granddaughter moved into her 1st home last year and immediately had the prepayment electric meter changed for an ordinary one. since then she hasn't had an electric bill, only a gas one. she has called them twice and they said one would be in the post shortly. yesterday she recieved a bill for over £450 and they say on the bill that they haven't received the payment for the january bill.
BUT firstly she didn't receive that bill and secondly the bill says on the top "PREPAYMENT ELECTRICITY STATEMENT"
She also has gas with this same company and actually gets a dual fuel discount .
Anybody with ideas of what to do and what to say if she calls them up..
PS...
Just like to add that the recent bill is showing that they have actually read this meter, so surely they would know it wasn't a pre-payment meter.

It looks like the tariff on her account wasn't changed when she had her meter replaced, which is why it says prepayment on it. If she calls in they should be able to send her a corrected bill.
By the payment for the January bill do you mean the gas bill as this would show on the next gas bill not the electricity bill. When she calls them up they would probably be able to combine the two accounts on to one bill if she wanted.
Before she calls I'd get her to make a note of her meter serial number and make sure it matches the one on her account as it may not have been updated when the meter was changed.0
