Buy It Now: Best offer history - how are offers arranged?

Quick question:
If an item is receiving best offers, are the offers arranged chronologically (earliest at bottom and most recent on top)?
Or is it highest offer on the top and lowest at the botoom?
Or is it something else?
I've put in an offer, which appears in the middle, with a more recent bid above it. I'm wondering if that means more has been offered by the more recent bid, or if it's just there because it's more recent?
