Hi, my mother may be allowed a disabled parking bay on the road outiside our house, but if I ever want to sell the house would it be a problem for a new buyer who wasnt disabled, could we have it removed? thanks

no more of a problem than ut would be for you.

even though the bay would be provided because your mum is entitled ... anyone else that has a blue badge can use it.
it is a disabled parking bay and not your mothers exclusively

it may... depending on how 'in demand' disabled parking spaces are in your area.
you have to weigh up how difficult it is for you to park now.

if you regularly have to park an unreasonable distance from your property , then it would be worthwhile.

I can understand your point re when you come to sell the house.

It depends how easy it is for people to park in the area. If a would-be purchaser was not disabled and found they could not park near the house, it could deter them.

I doubt very much if the council would remove the disabled bay.
  • At my request I have a space outside my front door, I cannot stop another blue badge holder parking there but that is very rare. The bay is monitered by the council time to time I have had a parking ticket when I forgot to display my badge and I have been asked to let them know if it is no longer required so I assume that they will remove it when that time comes.

if the bay is marked out but no signage is posted then a blue badge is not needed to park there, its only advisory
