Car insurance for less than a year
My car insurance is due for renewal in December but I am moving to mainland Europe in 2013 and likely to sell the car sometime around March/April (yet to decide exactly when). Do I have any options for insurance that lasts less than a year? Or alternatively, are there any companies with low penalties for cancelling annual insurance early?

I think ecar insurance do a monthly one. Certianly I've done short term cover with them but it might be pricey. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0

Try a local broker.....
If they don't find anything nothing lost.....
My broker found me a company that let me take the car abroad for 3 months without ever having to say when exactly the 3 months started.....
I find in most cases my broker can find something as cheap or nearly as the pricecomp websites and you ger the added benefit of them handling the crap....
Presently have 2 cars, one through broker and other half's through direct as in this case broker didn't find anything as cheap.0 -
Elephant and Admiral will do a 10-month policy. It might be cheaper to insure for 10 months and cancel with a part refund than take out short-term insurance. You will need to get quotes and ask what the cancellation charge would be and how much refund you would get for the unused portion of the policy. My daughter in law found what I suggest was cheaper than short-term insurance.0

10 month is usually a bonus accelerator for those with zero no claims.
And its usually more per months than a 12 month policy.
Monthly insurance is usually very expensive. You need to find a company that have cheap admin fees and only charger pro-rata and not short term rates when you cancel.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
