Going 'HOME ALONE, What benefits are available?

Hi, am sure I will find some experts to help... a young man of 33yrs, w/chair user, due to C.P. since birth, now wants to live independant of parents, mum is not sure what benefits would support him financially, ie rent of £600 per month for a nearby (already adapted) private landlord bungalow he is looking at? etc. Also he has district nurses attending daily to change dressing on nasty bed sores, would they still come for free or would he need to pay for nursing support? ANY help very much appreciated. :T

you need to find uot what his local housing allowance rate is.
im pretty sure that as he is disabled, he wouldnt be expected to house sjare and would be entitled to the 1 bed rate.

again assuming he already receives his DLA entitlement and ESA?


he will still get free care from district nurses.

the major worry would be if his LHA would cover his rent.

he mat also get an extra premium on ESA vecause je lives alone ( as long as no one claims carers allowance for looking after him ) if he gets the middle or higher rate of DLA care
