Mortgages for bad / fair credit history

Hi Every Body,
My wife and I are looking to buy our first home. She has a perfect record with no late payments etc.
The problem starts with me. I have had 3 late payments with Virgin Media.
Where do you suggest we look for a mortage?

Thanks for the fast reply.
Last year September and November.0 -
So long as the other missed payment was not October, you should be ok with most reasonable lenders.
If you are trying at 95% loan to value, or 90% ltv with some of the more selective lenders this may hurt you a bit...
Good luckI am a Mortgage Broker

Were looking at 90% LTV.
We need around £169,200, My wife has a good salaty £40K and Im on £22K.
Britannia did a creidt score yesterday to apply for the mortage and it came back with "referred".0 -
Not sure you will get through Brittania at 90% LTV.
Whist their rates are attractive, they are quite selective.
Income is clearly no issue, it is just getting through the credit score.

Who do you recommend in my situation?

Recommending a lender would be unfair and unprofessional for an adviser who doesn't know your circumstances.

Sorry, but GMS is correct. It is reckless to share lender names without full sight of your case.
I would recommend if Britannia do decline you to get a recommended broker...

Sorry.
No nothing like that. I have 2 credit cards, I pay them off in full every month.
I had a loan, I finished paying that off in July. So Im debit free.0 -
You will no doubt get posts from people stating 'my mortgage is with x and they are great', 'my situation was like yours' etc. Truth is every application is different.
With a less than perfect credit history you need to get away from chasing rates and find a lender willing to accept you.
That said Britannia have not said no yet so wait and see what they come back with.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
