Northern Rock was split into two banks, the good and the bad. The good bank was sold and the bad bank remains in taxpayer ownership.
  • I am in the same situation, moved out in March and finally went to court on the 11th Dec. They have not taken possesion yet and I spoke with them today asking them to hurry up, but was told quickest way would be to sign there forms, which I will not, went BR 2009.

The pain is we are now paying council tax on this property and our rented property as used up the 6 months, so need to them to take the place ASAP
  • Dave, not sure if this is too late to help.

But should your council tax not have a class Q exemption?

Class Q - Property left empty by a bankrupt person

An unoccupied dwelling is exempt indefinitely where the liable party would be a trustee in bankruptcy. This is the person appointed by a general meeting of the bankrupt person's creditors. The property will probably be sold to raise cash. The property can be furnished or unfurnished to qualify. This exemption can apply to either the bankrupt account or the post bankruptcy account.
