convertible rover to sell..any tips...
i will also post on ebay forum as not sure if this is the right place. I have a convertible rover 1996 approx with brand new roof that cost me £1000 . the car has a few things to do on it such as new bonnet, new battery and a couple of lights in order to get the mot. i think because of this it would only go for about £200 plus on ebay. but if i sold off parts such as roof separately ( i notice there is someone on there selling theres for 400 pounds though did not see a bid at the time). i woudl like to get a bit more money for the car but dont have the space to sell the parts for it either. what would you do? any tips appreciated. thanks!

Wouldn't you earn more renting it out as a skip?0

Stick the car on ebay and hope for the best- make sure to advertise the engine type, either Rover K series or Honda unit- actually if it is a K series best not to mention it.
I think someone will buy it who does have the space to dismantle and sell on. As a car and now in winter it is pretty worthless. Good luck.0 -

Stick it on Gumtree you might have more success, or put the details into one of the sites that brokers scrap cars. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I think selling nearer the Summer would be a good idea0

These are good old motors, although I havn't owned a convertable one, they are based on the old wedge shape MK2 200 (R8 development name) which where superb.
As it is, I think you would have to sell it as 'spares or repair' on ebay or the like.
Personally I would MOT it - cars are deffinatly worth more with an MOT. Then either sell now, bearing in mind that just before Christmas is NOT a good time to sell cars - they are generally worth less and will get less interest. Also, in the winter is not a great time to sell a convertible either. OR, wait until next year and sell it when we start getting some sunshine.
Headlamps should be very easy to get - have a look on ebay. You can probably still get brand new ones. It might take time finding a used bonnet in good condition in the RIGHT colour.....but certainly do-able.0 -
Or sell of the new parts to make some money on them, then sell off the rest off the car for spares/repair on eBay. Someone will buy it. And come a long way to collect it. You'll get more that way than selling the car whole.0
