I'm not quite sure how it works, and I'm pretty sure I'm too old, but if anyone has children at school, college, university or in a music group or similar they should be able to take part.

Our Youth Record Label Community is looking for the ‘Best Young Band of 2013’.
"How do we enter?
Your school, college, academy, university or youth music organisation, youth music group or youth music club must have registered for free with the Youth Record Label website and agreed to abide by the terms and conditions of this website. You must then upload music and complete your Artist’s profile. By doing this you are then automatically eligible to join this competition.
What do we need to do now?
1. You must write and compose original lyrics and original music.
2. Perform and record your original lyrics and music to a high quality.
3. Once you are a registered user you can submit and upload recorded tracks from your artists to our Youth Record Label website.
4. Only artists from registered users who upload music will be eligible for this competition.
5. All genres of music and individuals (producers) or groups will be considered for this competition.
7. You may upload more than one song to the Youth Record Label website and once you do this you will be eligible to take part in this competition, no other action is needed on your part.
8. This competition opens at 00.01 on 1st February, 2012.
9. The closing date for this ‘Best Young Band of 2013 Competition’ is 23.59 on 31st May, 2013. Any uploads by artists received after that time and date will not be considered.
10. Any artists who upload their music and Artist’s Profile via their registered user by the closing date will automatically be considered for this ‘Best Young Band of 2013’.
11. Youth Record Label will contact the winners by 23.59 on 7th June, 2013.
12. Subject to these Terms and Conditions the ‘Best Young Band of 2013’ winners will be announced on or soon after 7th June, 2013
What can we win?
1. The winning ‘Best Young Band of 2013’ will win a £250 contribution towards music equipment of their choice.
2. The runner up in the ‘Best Young Band of 2013’ will win a £150 contribution towards music equipment of their choice.

The ‘Best Young Band of 2013’ competition will be assessed and judged by Youth Record Label Ltd based on the following criteria.
A. Flair, creativity and impact of their Artist’s Profile.
B. Star quality of the Artist.
C. Appeal of their chosen music genre.
D. Creativity of the artwork on their uploaded single(s) or album cover(s).
E. Best fit with the ethos and culture of our Youth Record Label Community.
Youth Record Label ‘Best Young Band of 2013’ Competition Terms and Conditions apply, as follows:
Youth Record Label – ‘Best Young Band of 2013’ Terms and Conditions
1. This competition is organised by the Youth Record Label Ltd. This is a Youth Record Label website fun competition.
2. Entry to this competition is limited to persons aged between 5 -21 years old on the 31st May, 2013 (except employees and/or the children or close relatives of Youth Record Label employees who are not allowed to enter this competition). Proof of age, identity and eligibility may be requested.
3. Artists must write at least one original song. Entry is limited to online entry only from artists in schools, academies, colleges, universities or youth music organisations who are bona fide registered users and who have been accepted as such by Schools Record Label at www.youthrecordlabel.com.
4. All songs must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. Your entry must not copy or cover any other work owned or copyrighted by another person. Schools Record Label Ltd accepts no responsibility whatsoever if registered users ignore these Terms and Conditions or for any infringement of copyrights or licenses. If registered users infringe such copyrights or ownership in any way this shall be the sole responsibility of the registered users. By being a registered user and uploading music you hereby agree to indemnify Schools Record Label Ltd against any claim by any third party from any breach of these Terms and Conditions and hereby agree to indemnify Schools Record Label Ltd against any claim by any third party for breach of copyrights or licenses.
5. The Artist must upload information to their Artist’s Profile within the Youth Record Label Community and at the sole discretion of Schools Record Label Ltd.
6. For the ‘Best Young Band of 2013’ Competition. Entry opens at 00:01 on 1st February, 2012. Entry closes at 23.59 on 31st May, 2013. Any music uploaded during this period will be considered for this competition. Artists may refuse to be included in this ‘Best Young Band of 2013’ Competition.
7. An approved and responsible person accepted as a registered user by Schools Record Label Ltd will be required to upload the music and agree to these Terms and Conditions at www.youthrecordlabel.com and be accepted by Schools Record Label Ltd.
8. We cannot return uploaded songs or your Artist’s Profiles so please remember to retain an original copy of your music. Unsuccessful artists and registered users will not be contacted and no feedback on any uploaded song and/or Artist will be provided under any circumstances.
9. Uploaded songs and Artist Profiles must not contain defamatory, obscene, offensive, or any other unsuitable material. Songs must be suitable to be broadcast, published or used online by Schools Record Label Ltd. Decisions on whether they will be accepted or broadcast or published shall be at the sole discretion of Schools Record Label Ltd. No correspondence will be entered into.
10. Artists and Registered Users retain the copyright and all publishing rights and by uploading their music and artist profiles and artwork, all artists and/or registered users shall grant a non-exclusive royalty-free licence to Schools Record Label Ltd to publish, broadcast (across all media) and upload the entry online and on any other platforms yet to be envisaged. This licence will be deemed to include all the necessary rights and permissions to fulfil the prizes and to complete the administration of this competition.
11. Youth Record Label retains the sole and exclusive rights to the Youth Record Label catalogue of songs.
12. In the event that the uploaded is song published online at www.youthrecordlabel.co.uk, and uploaded or downloaded for sale at anytime, on any other websites and for the avoidance of doubt, this will not be part of, or influence in any way, the judging process for this showcasing competition.
Songs and Artists will be judged on the following criteria:

14. Youth Record Label’s decisions for this competition will be final. Schools Record Label Ltd shall have sole responsibility for judging the winning artists and songs for showcasing, our decisions are final. No correspondence will be entered into.
15. Youth Record Label reserves the right to disqualify any entry which breaches any of these Terms and Conditions, or to withhold a prize if in the opinion of Youth Record Label, songs or artists do not reach the required standard. Youth Record Label reserves the right not to grant any winners or runners up prizes, this will be at the sole discretion of Schools Record Label Ltd. No correspondence will be entered into.
16. Youth Record Label reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, dates, or cancel this competition at any stage, including the prize and showcasing in November, if this is deemed necessary in its opinion, without explanation, whether circumstances are within our control or if circumstances arise which are outside of its control.
