Gas and water pipe plans

Bit of a shot in the dark here, but is it possible to obtain from somewhere (council?) plans of how a house is plumbed for water and gas?
We would like to re-instate a fireplace but its full of various pipes, probably from an old gas fire with back-boiler. We'd like to know how things lie before we take a hammer to it!
Thanks.

I installed most of my own heating and plumbing pipework when I built the house and I cannot remember where it all is. So you have no chance of finding out.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
