Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. I was just reminiscing. Do you want me to edit my post??

Of course not, though I do think that was over & above the call of duty!

All I really want mine to do is to help make sure everything runs smoothly on the day and help with dress etc. Ive organised everything else myself as it was much easier that way.

    4 weeks tomorrow!

  • I haven't had a chance to read the replies, but from my own personal experience of being a bride I would suggest:

Supporting the arrangement of the hen do. Perhaps ask bride what she wants to do and suggest either booking it all for her, or taking on the email addresses of attendees and getting them organised and taking their deposits.

On the run up to the day, being cooperative with the bridesmaid dresses. Unless you really feel you are going to look absolutely dreadful, support her in her decisions, over the dress.

On the day help as much as possible. Setting the alarm for that morning, ensuring you all get to the hairdressers at the right time, and helping her into her dress and adjusting it on the morning if her mother isn't there or totally useless!

In the church remember if you are the designated person, to help her with the veil and take her flowers during the service.

My dad decided to have a funny turn while standing up at the alter and my bridesmaid helped here too.

All these little extras were very much appreciated on my day
