Thought I'd share this quick story with you.
I am very fussy with wallets. It took me about 30-40 minutes in store to find a wallet which was exactly how I wanted it.
I bought it for £6.99 in TK Maxx. Unfortunately, one of the seems burst on the coin pocket causing any coins I had to fall out. I'd only had it for about 3 weeks.
I'd binned the receipt (silly, I know) and I didn't think I'd have any sort of comeback with them. However, you don't ask, you don't get.
I went to Customer Services and told them what had happened, explained I hadn't kept the receipt and that I just wondered if there was anything they could do.
Without question the girl got her manager and he told me to go and pick another wallet and they would swap it. He asked how much I paid for it and I told him I wasn't 100% sure, but that it was no more than £7.
He said that's fine, go and swap it for another of the same value.
So after another 30 minutes, I found another wallet. They swapped it for me and I got a fresh new wallet and receipt.
No fuss, no hassle, no receipt! They simply took my word for it and let me get another one.
