Choc Tasting Club vital missing info in the step by step guide

Just noticed the Chocolate tasting club deal where you get cashback from a casback site and £10.00 discount if you use a code.

I've just followed the step by step guide and was waiting to get to the end to pay by credit card and the place where you input the discount code and I just seemed to have chosen my first box of chocs and joined.

I've now noticed that I should have entered the £10 off code at the very top of the home page which is a vital bit of information missing from the step by step guide!

Beware if you are interested in this deal as it's not very clear from this weeks email.

Unless someone can suggest something else,I would go towards the bottom of the forum, "moneysaving and the site".

well.. it is perfectly clear where you have to put the code.

Its not exactly hidden, its there staring people in the face.

then right above where you make your selection, in big bold letters it states

If you have a DISCOUNT CODE, please enter it above.

Can fully understand how this occurred, most websites have the box to input any promotion codes in the checkout pages.

OP,what are your cancellation options in order to re-apply.

Ive applied for this offer via top cash back , the box to input the code is at the top of the very first page, its not MSE's fault you didn't read the page properly.

if you are new to topcash back theres a link on the welcome page to double cash back until Dec 3rd, i will be paying £9-95 [£10 off] for my choc order but im getting £16-16 in cash back !

As usual we get plenty of input from people who are perfect and never miss anything or make a mistake.

Some of us do get things wrong from time to time so a warning is helpful.

    Thanks, OP.

Here is the info from MSE. I feel it needs "enter the £10.00 discount code at the top of the welcome page" at the beginning of point 2. It is obviously perfectly clear to people once it has been pointed out! Most online shopping sites ask for discount codes just before you pay. I obviously trust MSE implicitly as the instructions are always spot on but as you can see from the step by step instructions, it's not mentioning where the discount code comes into the equation.

    Step-by-step detail

    Step 1:
If you’re already a member of cashback site, Topcashback*, use it to sign up to the Tasting Club. If you’re not a member, make sure you understand how cashback works and that it's never 100% guaranteed – see the Top Cashback Sites guide. Then join it and follow instructions above.

Step 2: Enter your details on the Tasting Club site and choose from a Milk, Classic, Dark, Elements or Purists' selection.

Step 3: If you only want the intro box, which should arrive within 10 days, simply cancel your membership once you've got the chocolates via the 'manage my membership' section of the website.

It's not about being perfect, but we'll, as you brought it up, and me not wanting to blow my own trumpet, but I am perfect in every way trolololo

But, anyway, I'm sure most people actually read the pages they are buying from, if people don't read the pages then they really haven't got the right to complain when they get an outcome they aren't happy with.

Regardless of the info posted on this site, when you go to buy these it's abundantly clear what you need to do.

Absolutely, my own fault but as it is a very easy mistake to make, I thought I would spend a few minutes letting others know that the step by step instructions on the weekly email do not mention where you put the code.

Incidentally, top notch customer service from the Chocolate Tasting company. Explained what had happened and they said that they would deduct the £10.00 off the invoice and they didnt even want the discount code.

Looking forward to my nice box of chocolates.
