RCD Electrical Question

I run a newish electric cross cut mitre saw 1800 watts on rating plate.
When I run it through a 16 amp RCD it immediately trips the RCD.
Nothing erlse is running on the same circuit
If I run it through a plug in RCD plugged into the same circuit it does NOT trip out the 16 amp RCD in the consumer unit.
Anyone any idea what is going on ???
Thanks in advance

It is likely to have a high inrush current when the motor starts, tripping the circuit breaker.
With equipment like this a type C curve breaker is often used, which should cope with higher inrush current to prevent nuisance tripping.
