To dryer or not to dryer?

With 3 kids under the age of 7 and the winter months drawing in we are struggling drying clothes and keeping on top of the laundry. I'm thinking its only going to get harder as the kids get older. Currently doing around 5 or 6 loads a week we have no airing cupbaord, just a clothes airer in the kitchen.
How much would a condenser tumble dryer cost to run based on 6 loads a week?
Can anyone recommend a place and brand?
Is there any point in paying extra for an energy efficient one (if there is such a thing?)
Any thoughts on this welcome!

Around 50-60p a load. I have a Hoover I use it maybe once twice a week this time of year for 3 of us. I do air some clothes on a clothes airer but I also use a dehumidifier

Its best getting a dedicated dryer I vent mine outside with a hose through brick or a window would do
  • Anyone you know a gas safe engineer? if so, ts worth getting a gas tumble dryer (white knight have two models, the 43a and the 46a off the top of my head). has to be installed by a gas safe person, but significantly cheaper than electricity. Which claim that running it every 2 days costs about £40 per year which isn't bad...

Got a Whirlpool condenser type. No hose or holes through the wall or open windows needed. The heat which it generates helps to warm the house.
Bought it as a Which Mag. "Best Buy" .
    Forgotten but not gone.

Update: ended up buying a candy condenser for £190 from Argos as it was available for in store collection. It comes with a 5 year parts warranty. I figured that the more Eco ones were just a bit too expensive to make it worthwhile.
Anyway I'm pleased with it and will save us time and hassle and as the saying goes time is money.
