Credit card minimum payments ? can the DD bank account be from a different person?

For credit card Direct debits, for the 'minimum' payment coming out of a bank account,

does the bank account have to be in the name of the person whose credit card is in?

or can a credit card of a dad,....have the direct debit taken out of the dads sons bank account?

eg, barclaycard Direct debit of dads credit card (single card holder)
then the direct debit monthly minimum payment being taken out of the sons bank account?

or doesn't it matter aslong as the monthly payments are taken out every month ??

If the son agrees to the direct debit then in theory there should be no reason why it would not work.
