Definitely! I make mulled cider so you could just do it with apple juice. Tie up some cinnamon, all spice and cloves in a muslin bag. Suspend in the apple juice and add cut oranges, apples and sugar to taste.0 -
HJ - I love the idea of sheet music for paper chains....I shall collect some for next year.
Nothing leaves my house before its been used, reused, had all useable bits cut off and any reusable parts taken out. The little ribbons in tops to keep them on hangers are fab for lots of crafts. Buttons, save them all! Plugs and fuses from appliances are always handy. When my freezer died a few months ago the company delivering e new one took the old one away with them but not until I'd stripped the drawers out, the magnets from the seals and the plug. I've got kindling stacked in the drawers in the wood pile."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Cuttings of evergreens when out walking, pick up pine cones and save, have au natural or spray/glue glitter. Painted children's handprints cut out and arranged for a Christmas tree instead of buying onedecorate with home made decorations.
Fishing line makes a good material for hanging decorations as it's strong, easily knottable and see through0 -
I like the cardboard tree.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Oh yum, yeah they could be - gingerbread stars.
How much fun would the children have, making and painting a Christmas tree? I dare say those memories of making the tree will stay with them for life and will be looked upon fondly as adults.
I saw pictures of masking tape stuck to the wall in a tree shape and decorated with Christmas cards. When there's very little money you just don't need to buy a tree and dec's - make 'em, it's fun0 -
Hmmm. Wonder if I can get away with not having a tree??? There may be riots.0
