"brace yourself for my feedback"

Nightmare buyer on Amazon.

Purchases item (£35.00) on 10th November, posted second class on the 12th.

Snide email from buyer on 20th, where is my item? Want tracking etc. Emailed back couple hours later, very sorry etc etc. Will speak with local delivery office, get back to him within 24 hours.

No luck at delivery office (obviously) so email buyer on 21st, telling no luck tracking it down, had it arrived?

Heard nothing until 27th. Same snide email as before. Email back, very sorry, item gone amiss, will arrange full refund etc.

Response from buyer - "want refund now and brace yourself for my feedback"

Ooh, get him.

Seriously, why are people like this? If he had emailed me back on the 21st, I would have refunded even though the delivery estimate on Amazon gave until the 27th, just to keep the peace.

I could tell he was a problem from the tone of his email, so refund and get shot is my mantra when it comes to buyers like this.

You bend over backwards to help when Royal Mail screw it up but there is just no pleasing some people.

I feel your pain. I am still puzzled by the tone of the email that I got on Friday from my idiot buyer. Why start threatening all sorts of nonsense when a simple ' sorry I don't have my item yet, can I have a refund' will do.

I can only assume my buyer ( and yours) feels inadequate in real life and this makes them feel big.

On eBay or Amazon, I think we've all encountered malicious keyboard warriors at some time or otherwise read feedback for someone else, by someone 'with issues of their own making'.

Recently, I looked on the Amazon forums - that was a revelation! There are those with abrasive personalities claiming all kinds of stupid nonsense, like 'film cameras will make a comeback!' ... er, no! :wall:

Just refund and hope he calms down. I can understand he might be disappointed, but I certainly wouldn't approach things like this myself.

You might get any poor feedback removed but I don't know Amazon's systems very well as I've never had an issue.

film cameras will make a comeback!

Perhaps not for ordinary use but I know some people who still prefer them for more sophisticated use.

But certainly - I don't miss them at all myself.
