Life insurance for biker

Someone told me that some life insurance companies dont pay out if you die in a bike accident.

I'm taking out a new policy and cannot see any mention of this in all the bumf - I did have to confirm that I dont take part in motorcycle sport, which I dont, but it didnt ask about using one on the roads...

  • Not an expert on Life but going through my own applications recently not a single company called it out or asked about it and certainly there is nothing in my policy excluding it.

If your not racing and not intending to then you will be fine.
There are no exclusions for being a motorbike rider

Its not an issue. Although I have known income protection plans exclude bike accidents if the rider was at fault. Not life assurance though.

Likewise, I have known some personal accident and travel polices that exclude motorcycle accidents. Some have a cc limit, eg nothing over a 50cc or a 125cc.

Never seen it in Life Assurance though.
