Contents Insurance only - Leasehold flat

Hello,
I Have recently bought my first home, a one bedroom new build flat.
Im now looking for an insurance policy that is contents only, as the building insurance is covered by the lease.
Can anyone recommend a good insurance company to go with?
What are the minimum types of cover I should be looking for?
Is additional personal cover worth adding onto the policy?
All the offers on sites like TopCashBack seem to be geared towards buildings and contents insurance, so finding good deal for contents only is prooving to be difficult.
Being a first time buyer this is all very new to me so i would appreciate your recommendations and anyone elses experiances that is also in the contents only cover position!
Thank you

Home insurance varies a lot more in terms of cover than say Car and so it is important to be sure what you are buying and any special terms that may apply.
"Good" and "value" etc are very subjective terms and what one person thinks is sufficient for their needs may be insufficient for the next person. Personal Possessions is one of those things, to me given we have a couple of laptops, expensive camera, a fair bit of jewellery, a designer handbag or two etc then PP cover is very important, not only to have but to ensure it has an appropriate amount of world wide cover.
Which? will tell you who have strong customer service, Defaqto will give you a rough guide of the better quality product but not everyone needs the top products and likewise some products (like hotels) scrape into a star rating where as a very solid product from a lower rating may well be better for you.0 -
Cashback may be better if you are buying buildings and contents but only because you are spending more.GreenManG0 wrote: »All the offers on sites like TopCashBack seem to be geared towards buildings and contents insurance, so finding good deal for contents only is prooving to be difficult.
Remember, cashback is not guaranteed so don't factor this in when choosing cover.0
