What if my golf club goes bankrupt

I'm keen to join my local golf course but there's rumours going around that they're not financially stable. The cost would be £150 joining fee and then £595 annual subscription. If i paid this on a credit card would I get a pro-rata refund of the club were to cease to exist?
Any other suggestions?

    Yes you would.

Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 makes the credit card company equally responsible for performing the contract.
Thus if the golf club stop performing, then the CC co will refund an amount equal to that portion of the service not provided.

Read MSE's Section 75 Refunds article for further detail.
