Easyjet including administration fee in flight cost

I have been watching a pair of flights for next year.. My heart sunk when I just checked as I saw the flights had gone up. I clicked on both and was given the same final price as yesterday.

Then I realised that they had simply removed the extra 9 and just put them into the flight cost.

Well done Easyjet!

About time. Listing the admin fee separately only served to annoy people.

In some ways it's good, but it does make it a bit harder to compare prices because the cost of a single flight is now dependent on the number of people travelling and whether it's one way or return (because, as I worked out after a few experiments, they divide the £9 between each leg booked). So if I fly on my own it looks like the flight is more expensive than if I travelled with someone else, although in reality it's the same but with the booking fee distributed differently.

Why they don't just make it the same price regardless of passengers is a mystery to me. It's as if they're determined to confuse passengers.

I couldn't agree more. There's an element of easyJet shooting itself in the foot here -- because the headline price appears higher than is actually charged when 2 or more travel together. When I do an initial search for prices I usually do it for one passenger even when 2 of us are travelling.
