Question before calling out plumber plse

Hi,

If someone could throw any light on this before I call out a plumber, I would be grateful please.

I have a Baxi gas boiler over 22 years old, had it serviced about 8 weeks ago and this week it has started to make a roaring noise when the gas burner is on. It doesn't do this all the time especially at a low temperature but if I have the setting on 4 or above, it is doing it. It has never made this noise before.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is? Is it dangerous? The boiler does still switch off after a while.

Many thanks.
