trying to pay Ebay fees - odd message?

What does this mean? I am trying to pay my Ebay fees, only £19 as I like to do it as I go along in the month rather than face a huge bill - I get this message:

Excessive Payment Amount
This amount exceeds the payment limits on the account.

I have plenty of money in my paypal account... bizarre!

yet another ebay glitch no doubt. There are so many at the moment I wonder the site is working at all

You do get that message if you try to make too many payments towards your fees in a short period of time. I have encountered that in the past.

I always thought it was a bit strange eBay stopping you from paying your bill??

Same as Greg, I've had the same message when I've made several payments to my eBay account in the same day (due to a few unexpected sales, followed by a payment for each).

It sorted itself out a day or two later.
