Points on licence for stopping on zig zags

I dropped my daughter off at school this morning, there is never anywhere to park, so I did what a lot of parents do, stopped in the middle of the road while she got out. However there was a policeman there and he took my photo, I did not park on the yellow zig zag lines, and I'm not even aware if I was alongside them I am just assuming that I was cos a photo of the car was taken. I am worried now in case I get points on my licence, I am already on 9 points, and if I get 3 more I won't be able to drive. My eldest son has disabilities and without my car I would be knackered, he couldn't get to school. I don't mind a fine, it's the points I'm worried about, does anyone know if I will get points?? Thank you in advance

Your scenario to a tee, read and wait for ticket.
Make mental note, I'm on nine points, drive like your granny.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
It's got on here possible reasons you can try to appeal.

It would be a fixed penalty of and 3 points. You do not have to accept the penalty and can opt for the matter to go to court where a judge may allow you to keep your license.:footie:

I have a friend who has 13 points on their license, he had to go to court but was allowed to keep his licence due to being the only transport for a disabled relative (not a child, I don't think). However, there was a hefty fine and a stinking lecture from the court. He now drives like a granny!0

Stopping on a zig-zag adjacent to a pedestrian crossing is an endorsable offence (Contravention of pedestrian crossing regulations) - mandatory 3 points and a maximum fine of £1000.
Yellow zig-zags adjacent to a school aren't part of a pedestrian crossing though - the penalty would be a fine but no points.0 -

Well, the amount of times I have been cut up because I am driving at 29mph.....since I got my points nearly a year ago, I am that granny! Unfortunatley grannies don't usually have to take 2 children to 2 different schools and be in 2 places at the same time. I know I can make all the excuses I like tho, the law is the law
and I don't mind a fine at all I admit I've done wrong, but I'm hoping it won't be points (re Peter the Pipers link) fingers x'd
