Number lock problems

Every few minutes or so my laptop 'num lock' feature is switching off!! At least that's what appears to be happening, then when i press num lock the letters type correctly again! Can anyone help - it is annoying the heck out of me!!

Either you have a sticky/broken key but it might be worth going into your bios and switching off then on and see if that helps.

Thanks, but the key seems ok - not sticking - could you explain in simple terms about the Bios? I'm no techie!!

As soon as your computer starts press the delete key and that should take you into the bios.
Be careful when your in there but you need to look through probably the first lot of settings and it should say whether the num key is automatically on or off when the computer is switched on.
Make sure it says on but if it doesnt then it should explain on the screen how to change things (it difficult to explain as there are alot of different bios's).
Then if you have to change the setting there should be something on the screen that says save and exit.
Once you do this you PC will look like its restarted and but up as nornal.
Thinking about it a simple way of checking is just to make sure the num lock light is on during boot up and that should be its automatically on.
