John Lewis Fitted kitchens

Kitchen fitting isn't rocket science but a lot of it is down to experience as much as its down to having the right tools.
A good kitchen fitter will carefully measure out the room, check the walls and floor and probably spend an hour before starting out on the fitting. This way he has a good idea of how he may need to tweak the kitchen to make it look nice. That I the difference between a good kitchen fitter and an average or bad one. A fitter that is familiar with a specific product knows its strengths and weaknesses and sets up a kitchen to achieve the best end result. In my years of experience only about 10-15% of fitters I have come across are good enough for me to employ on our own fits.
In response to OP's question - A fitter contracted by JL isn't necessarily going to be better. JL will charge you good money to fit a kitchen but JL also have a reputation for keeping their customers happy. You have to make your own judgement on whether you want to pay the premium. I know 3 fitting teams used by one and one of them works for me. He is the best fitter I have come across. But I also know 2 others who I won't use - the fitting quality is quite mediocre IMHO.We’ve had to remove your signature. Definitely worth getting elsewhere than John Lewis. I also did this research a year ago, and found them to be much more expensive that others.
For the same price or less, Alno, Leicht, Hacker have pretty good offerings.
Leicht and Hacker are higher quality than Wentworth from what I heard (no expert myself, just repeating what I was told!)0 -
I have said this before but quality on offer from most German kitchen suppliers is leagues ahead of what JL own branded kitchens offer. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Being new to the area can anyone recommend a good kitchen fitter in the Aylesbury/Bucks area
Many thanks
Nip over to Bicester and you will be tripping over them;).
Fitters living in Bicester fit pretty much everything for my company for 30 miles around!0
