earlier in the year I booked a holiday to Tunisia for my family for June 2013, this weekend I found out Im pregnant-due june 2013, just wondering if anyone knows if it will be worth cancelling the holiday as even if I changed the dates Id prefer somewhere closer to home with a newborn. I paid aprox £450 deposit, and have paid £600 since, how much of this will I lose? I originally booked the holiday for december 2012 but changed the dates a few months ago to next june, so will I even be able to cancel etc.
any advice much apreciated, many thanks

I do have insurance which my travel company gave me free when I booked.
-I booked through co-op travel
- but the holiday is a thomas cook holiday
...not sure if any of that info helps x0 -
Claim on your insurance providing you didn't know you were pregnant when you changed it you should get your money back other than the excess. If you try to change it i think the admin fees will be a lot usually on a TC holiday £50 per person per change. But make sure the insurance will pay before you cancel.0

Depends if you have purchased cancellation insurance or just travel insurance.
Normally travel insurance would only be valid for the period of cover (holiday dates) and IF they were to accept prior cancellation you might have to provide a doctors letter to say you were unfit to travel.
Best to read their T&C's talk to the travel agent and see if dates could be changed and what the fees would be if others dates are available.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Holiday insurance does usually include cancellation cover, which is in force from the moment the insurance is confirmed. However: I suggest that you have a word with Co-op Travel and ask if they have any suggestions.0

I would look at the dates and the airline rules on pregnancy and babies. You will be in a much better position if the airline will not allow you to fly rather that you deciding you don't want to go, then it is almost as if they are cancelling rather than you0

If you're due in June and the holiday is in June I can't see any way you would be allowed to fly, and I would expect any halfway decent insurance policy to pay up for anything you don't get back when you cancel.0

Most airlines require a doctor's letter if you want to fly 28 weeks or more into your pregnancy. I don't know of any airline that allows pregnant women to fly after 34 weeks. Twins (or more babies) have stricter rules. HTH0
