When you've bought a large item which was not as described??

I purchased a large used part for a dryer off of ebay and when it arrived it was clearly damaged and not as described by the seller. I tried to make the best of the situation and use some smaller parts from it but these were not salvageable.

The issue now is that the seller is not responding to my messages - I guess he does not want to incriminate himself. If I file any kind of item dispute I guess the first thing I will be asked is to send them item back??

Has anyone claimed compensation for an item that was not described without sending it back??

This guy has basically sold scrap through the post and it would appear to be my responsibility to pay postage to send it back. This seems to be a great con. If you dishonestly sell an item that is large enough you put the buyer into an impossible position due to high postage charges to return the item.

  • Unfortunatly all you can do it open a snad claim and find the cheapest option to send it back. For me that is myhermes (if you drop it off at a local drop off shop it will be even cheaper) it will also track the parcel too.
