Love Actually or The Holiday - both AMAZING Christmas chick flicks (watch them every year at Christmas, cry every year while watching them) and reasonably old so cheap. They are real classics, I never met a girl that doesn't like them!0

I like the film pretty woman - I always watch it on the tv when it comes on. I've not got the DVD though, so definitely the old classics - the ones you might have on VHS but not on DVD.
Dirty Dancing
Serendipity
Bridget Jones 1 & 2
Ghost
Titanic
Just like Heaven
Love Actually
Notting Hill
Mean Girls (hehe)
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Grease
When Harry met Sally.

Thank you all for your movie suggestions!
I'm really not a chick-flick girl at all, much rather have some subtitled movie (Oldboy anyone? :rotfl:)
Will get onto amazon tonight and get something ordered, need to check with my nephew again xCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
When I did mine, I tried to cover most genres, so I had He's Just Not That Into You, Fame, Casablanca, Inception, Up...er...something else that's really not coming to me (I also got The Aristocats free with Up, but I kept that for myself...)0

I did this for DD and her BF last year and I added one of these because they were both media students

I had never heard of this before! Such a clever idea! Been on the hunt for good hamper ideas...never considered this. Love the genre ideas as well :-)0

:wave:I love the idea of film hampers too.
Recently I had some girlfriends round for a film night and rather than buy ready made popcorn holders I downloaded this template onto thin card, cut them out and made them up, putting everyone's name on them. They came out really well and were appreciated!
The link might not work as I can't post links yet. HTH.

I think it's a great idea

Personally, however, I'd go for a recent release OR a "proper" classic like Casablanca, unless the agreement is that gifts will cost less than £5.import this0 -
Any ideas for a film for my dad - mid 50s, no idea what films he likes apart from I know he likes sci fi films, but not sure what films he would want.0

I love the idea too, but the problem for me is that we have hundreds of DVDs already and a very wide taste in films, but not necessarily the type others would instantly think of. I think if I was bought a chick flick I'd generally not be impressed, yet there are a couple I own.
Like if you gave me Bridget Jones or Titanic I'd never talk to you again (made myself a promise I will never have to watch those films)! But I think Love Actually is a really great film and I have watched Ghost a few times.
I have The Stepford Wives (2004) and that's a surprisingly OK film, Muriel's Wedding and Amelie.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
