Movie hamper, does this sound okay?

Saw a Mobie hamper on the hamper thread, planning on making two myself, one for my brother and SIL, one for DH's sister and her husband.

Im thinking a bottle of wine (have a few I was given but I don't drink wine, so they are free)
Bag of popcorn (2 for £2 so £1 per hamper)
Bag of sweets, like Revels, Mars planets etc (£1)
2 DVDs, a chick flick and a more manly film

DVD ideas so far are Taken and Road to Perdition, the notebook and PS I love you. Any suggestions welcome!

Have ordered some cellophane from eBay, paid with pinecone research earnings.
DVDs are being bought from amazon with Swagbucks vouchers.

Going to put each hamper into a shoe box covered in wrapping paper, maybe with some shredded paper as a base.

Total money spent will be £4 on the popcorn and sweets for both hampers :T

Anything else that I could add that doesn't cost a lot? Or anything you would change?

Thanks x

I don't know how much you want to spend, but I did one of these for my parents a few years ago and, from memory, other things I included were cinema vouchers, cans of pop and I got little popcorn boxes off ebay quite cheap. If anything else comes back to me I'll let you know!

You could try older, 'classic' ones if she doesn't have them: When harry met sally, four weddings, you've got mail...

    They'll be cheap too ;)

They also do cups of pick 'n' mix like at the cinema in the 99p store.

  • I did one of these for FILs birthday at the weekend. I covered a box in wrapping paper and filled that with coloured shredded paper that had come in some packaging for something. I wrapped it in cellophane and tied with ribbon.

My hamper contained: 1 bag of sweet popcorn and 1 bag of salted popcorn (as I didn't know which he preferred) which were £1 each, a box of wine gums from BMs for under £2, two fancy looking beers which were 2 for £3 and we got him a blockbusters voucher as they use blockbusters weekly for rentals but I know this isn't everyones thing. He buys a lot of dvds though so it's not easy to keep track of what he has without just asking him outright. He really loved it though and thought it was a great idea, and looked much nicer than just a voucher or dvd on it's own.

I had planned to present it in a big bowl (which they could use to put the popcorn in) but I couldn't find any nice and cheap enough for the job.
