Interesting comment by Martin Lewis: outside the formal article context in reply to a comment about P2P vs savings account: "The two things aren't comparable. One is saving. One is investing. I'm a huge fan of peer to peer but it is a different asset class with a different level of risk". Not really a surprise because he's had a good deal more time to use P2P than at the time the article was initially written.

Sent £3000 to funding circle , switched on autobid. Wish me luck . Did not go for a ablrate as there were only a couple of loan options available there (apart from secondary market but as I do not understand it well I did not want to use that option). Did not go for zopa or ratesetter as was not interested in safeguard fund options and did not see autobid option on those. Comments welcome.
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

hi, my first choice would have bee ratesetter for the first £1000, only because of the startup bonus, you would have been close to 14% return after 1 year, then if you have a partner you could have invited him/her and they would have got £100 bonus for £1000 invested for the first year and you would have got another £50 bonus. i havnt used FC so dont know if you get any intro offers from them.
just my way of doing things, i am sure others would do things differently, welcome to P2P

    From T&C....
The welcome bonus will be available for all eligible customers who have registered their account before midnight on 06.10.2016
I think the £50 bonus might have been reduced.

Before using ratesetter, expecting bonuses, ensure you read the T&C and offers are in place or reinstated, you could be disappointed otherwise.

  • I am going by this...

    https://www.ratesetter.com/welcome-bonus

Could be just not consistent web content. Guess going to have to ask to confirm. From p2pindentforum I did find reference to the welcome-bonus ending, but unclear if the "refer a friend bonus" also stopped.

  • I invested a grand in P2P Investment Trust in mid-October 2015 - currently nursing a 23% loss. Considering selling if it gets to 25% down, but otherwise sitting tight.
