The obvious one you are missing there is Assetz Capital, 4.10% on the instant access account, 5.10% on the 30 day account. I'd say Octopus Choice is also worth a go, around 4% but then if you use Ratesetter I guess you are happy around that. Also Growth Street worth a look at 5.3% on a 30 day rolling basis.
I'd be spreading the money equally through all P2P lenders I use, certainly not have 75% in 1 and 1% in others.0 -
Agreed with bxboards.
I really like Lending works. So far has made the most interest for me, the only problem is you can't get in depth details on the loans like you can with funding circle and Assetz capital.0 -
Lending works is somewhat similar to Zopa, in that they both are mainly smallish loans to private individuals, so you probably should diversify more.
AC is the obvious answer, I still like REBS (others don't), Proplend (1K min per loan), Bridgecrowd (5K min per loan). Or outside p2p altogether of course0 -
Any advice for someone new to P2P lending.
I will max out the interest I can earn before paying tax this year through regular savers, current accounts etc., so I'm really intrigued about the IFISA.
So, in short, what's would people's advice be about the sturdiest provider for investing a large amount in an IFISA this year. I don't need access to the money in the short-term (or have any plans for it in the long term), and I'm aware that there will be some investment risk but I'd like to mitigate this to an extent. Ratesetter appears attractive at first glance because of their Provision Fund?
Thanks!0 -
If you were going to open only one account (ISA) would Zopa be the best option or Ratesetter or something else?0

Hello all,
I'm writing firstly out of disillusionment with the MSE Forum hierarchy. I spent many considerable hours reading the entire back-catalogue of 95 pages of peer to peer discussion (many thanks to jamesd and the other historic greats I've come across in this thread, your musings were invaluable), prior to recently taking the plunge into p2p and making my own investments (still in progress). My aim was to eventually inform you of the outcome of all of that, as many have all been doing, together with the outcomes of some deliberations. Obviously, my spare time being all about p2p recently, I had some referrals which I posted in the referrals board. I asked the inoffensive question, what must I do or how many times must I write in order to be granted the option of posting my own links. You can read for yourselves there, perhaps it's me, but all I got by way of answer was referrals blabla, you're bumping blabla - but how is that a courteous response that actually answers my question? Is there a more kindly and friendly board monitor in this thread who can answer my question? How many notches do I need in the proverbial belt? I am employed in a position of great pressure and responsibility, a Doctor to be exact, so I don't have time to have long meaningless conversations with lots of people on lots of topics to satisfy the Kings in the Kafkaesque MSE Forum castle. So... What's the number?0 -

But it wouldn't surprise me if you were very close.0 -
Well thanks for the more gentlemanly and constructive reply, much appreciated. Hopefully I'll be better positioned to answer newbies questions here myself on p2p, now that I'm educated on the matter. Maybe I'll write a piece entitled "A Beginner's Guide to p2p".
Thanks for letting me know, they could at least have said "We are not permitted/unwilling/unhappy to say the number... Because...", and that would have avoided a lot of unnecessary resentment and animosity.
Anyhow, thanks!0
