Hi Guys, Anyone noticed thier monthly online statements showing a debit of £20 or other even though you have done no transactions, or any pending ?
I qeeried this with amex last week, said, ignore it, mistake, even though, it was on the prior months statement.
I ignore nothing. Thought maybe it was/is the £20 fine for none use 6 months, applied and removed as soon as first transaction is done.?
As soon as my first transaction is made, the £20 is refunded.
This is shown at the very BOTTOM of page, not half way down.
Thier figures always take some working out, but always seem to tally at the end of the month..

None showing on my card but then it is used almost every day for all business expenses etc so never would have it applied.
Would be surprised that many would pay £450 a year for a card and then not use it for a dormancy fee to be commonly applied0 -
Hi, Thanks for reply; I,ve never had it applied to mine, but mine is not annual fee.but I know a £20 dormancy fee applies.after 6 months, T/c,sInsideInsurance wrote: »None showing on my card but then it is used almost every day for all business expenses etc so never would have it applied.

I cannot grasp, how , when the card has not been used, at the begginning of a new month, there,s always a debit showing, and nearly always £20.
Amex rep said, he couldn,t understand it, ignore it, mistake,confusing;
EVERY MONTH, I don,t think so;
I don,t use mine for buissiness, just household, presume similar a/c ?
Does the middle set of figures, tally with the ones at the bottom of the page. Mine don,t The £20 is still there, but the credits are inreased by £20, so it levels out, but the debits at middle and bottom are different, ;?I only noticed it because I had cause to view my A.c the day it was cleared and no other transaction done by me, but it showed debit £20 at bottom, nil in the middle part.
Cleared every month by DD0 -
It sounds like you have the Platinum Cashback card where as I have the Platinum card (ie the chargecard) so not sure we see exactly the same things online but certainly all the numbers on my screen appear to tally correctly.0

Hi, Thanks again, it would seem so.InsideInsurance wrote: »It sounds like you have the Platinum Cashback card where as I have the Platinum card (ie the chargecard) so not sure we see exactly the same things online but certainly all the numbers on my screen appear to tally correctly.
mike on amex thread seems to think so too.
Still cannot understand why, if a transaction hasn,t been made, it shows a debit ?
I know I,m not been diddled, just don,t like figures that cannot be explained when asked.
If they are there, they are there for a reason.Not to be ignored, like amex rep told me.
I,ll get to the bottom of it if it takes me forever.
