Italian Leather Jacket Man
Comments
-
My husband is a courier driver whose route is around Derbyshire.
He stopped yesterday at a cashpoint in a small village which is just off A38 .As he was going back to his van a nice car ( he told me the make but Ive forgotten ) pulled up and the widow was wound down. Inside was a smartly dressed man who spoke with an Italian accent. He beckoned my husband over.
My husband went as he is used to people asking him for driving directions etc .
The man in the car said that he was a sales rep for Versace and that he was on his way to 'the ferry' (this is in deepest Derbyshire remember !!) .He had some 'left over' leather jackets that he wanted to get rid of as he would otherwise have to pay tax on them .
My husband asked what he wanted for them (already quite aware that this was a scam) .The answer was that the jackets were totally free-no money was asked for them -they were a gift.He only wanted a tiny favour .....
Frustratingly (to me) my Husband then turned on his heel and shouted in a voice calculated to carry so that others would be aware of what was going on that "THIS IS A SCAM" and went back to his van.He noted that people around were now taking a great interest in the Italian man who hadnt moved.
But I wanted to know what the 'tiny favour' could possibly be?? Anyone got any ideas???"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0 -
