Help with First Untility smart meter and switching
I have an electricity-only account with FU (no gas in my flat) and am finding their standing charge very expensive at £0.52 per day, compared to a lot of other suppliers at less than £0.20 per day. I am thinking about switching, but the one thing I do like is that they supplied me with a smart meter, which charges a lot less at night. All the comparison sites I have looked at only quote day tariffs, which are similar to what I pay now. None that I can find have the facility to compare pricing with a smart meter, and Economy 7 pricing won't produce a result.
Does anyone have any experience switching from them? Are other suppliers able to use their smart meter, or do they supply their own? And has anyone found a supplier that quotes electricity only day and night tariffs for smart meters, not Economy 7?

I'm not confused about my consumption, just about the meter. You have answered my question actually, if they cancel the sim it doesn't matter what supplier I go with, so can just go for whoever offers me the best deal. Thanks!0

I have been reading Brit Gas smart meters for 3 years now, its the exact same model as First Utilitys smart meter and so far I havent seen one (domestic ) smart meter on eco 7 day and night tariff, they have all been single rate. We see a few First Utility people who have switched to B.Gas, but their electric meters now operate as "dumb " meters, as do any of B.Gas people who switch. No signs of" smart switching" yet. BG rep on here says its coming "soon "0

Thank you also.
I have now applied to change supplier, their standing charges are ridiculous, nice to have a smart meter, but not THAT nice!0 -
I get charged a cheaper rate for night use, so I have two rates on my current FU meter. Not sure what make it is though.0
