Does anyone here have an ideological objection to Solar?

I dont see how the FiT or the ROC is any worse than whats been guaranteed the new Hinkley Point Neuclear stations or allowing EDF generation to sell to sell its Gas Turbine generated power to the highest bidder which is always EDF's retail arm. I won't even start on the cost of supporting friendly governments in oil producing lands and the value of a human life in imposing our will in these regions. Again I reiterate that FiTs are a very small fraction of government spending and not nearly the most wasteful.
I thought you might have been aware that FITs are not part of 'Government Spending'.
They are funded by a levy on all electricity consumers, that includes the poorest in the land, and not from general taxation. That is the reason why Monboit(and a few others on this thread) believe:To install solar electricity, for example, you would need your own roof plus £10,000 or more in cash. If you were lucky enough to possess both these assets,
you would be making, at other people's expense, one of the most lucrative of all possible investments.0 -

A soft start would not have acheived this.

Just as a matter of interest, what were the margins a year ago when the fit was 43p/kWh - when a typical 4kWish system had an install cost of say £13,000?0 -

Lets stop spitting hairs you condescending pedant, you now what i mean, and you know i know how its funded.
I notice you've ignored everything else in the post to focus on something to annoy people. I shall be ignoring you from now on, i have better things to do with my time.0 -

Firstly I have never said that those organisations have got their numbers wrong. My position is quite simple, domestic PV is more economically viable than farm scale PV.
Of course I think you are wrong!
I keep telling you that many organisations were/are prepared to set up solar farms getting a lower subsidy than domestic installations.
They will have completed business plans on the financial viability.
So yes I have far more confidence that they have 'done the figures' than yourself.
We pay lower subsidy, get more electricity generated, and available to the grid, for that subsidy.
If you think they are mistaken, argue with them!

Well aren't we getting touchy!
You, who have a vested interest in promoting the solar industry , introduce the subject of 'shills' into this thread in a vain attempt to 'annoy people'. Then get upset when some nonsense you posted is picked up.
Don't forget that there will be people reading this thread who are unaware how FITs are funded, and might believe what an 'industry expert' had written..
Good idea to put me on ignore!0 -

The shill thing was a vain attempt at humour, clearly the wrong thread for that :-)
The FiT has a budget assigned by the Treasury, who forced the cuts, and is paid for by energy bill increases. A small amount of the recent price rises compared to Gas price rises as big george states in his article.
Look through all my posts, i have never once claimed to be an 'Expert' on anything, so thanks for the compliment. I am an in the industry to help households and businesses with their energy needs, PV and the FiT is a part of what we offer.
I came on hear to try to clear up misinformation on pricing and returns perpetuated by the media, treasury and even people who did PV in 2011 who think its over. I have failed in doing that by getting involved in this nonsense.
I am not getting touchy either, busness is picking up so im pretty damn chuffed to be honest, just saying it how i see it. Ciao for now...

Anyway here is another link for an organisation which thinks box ticking is a substitute for effective control.

Well you say you're here to clear up issues about pricing, but when I effectively asked for a breakdown of where the £13/14k cost of a system a year ago got allocated, you wouldn't answer!0 -

Give me a system spec and a price and i'll tell you if it's in line with the current market.0 -

You meant £10K ?
I have already answered the question for 30% of the charge assuming it was a simple roof, pointing in more or less the right direction?0
