Had an item on buy it now, and someone bought them. Waited a few days (week) for the money to be paid, and it never was, so I opened a case.
Just had an email from the person who 'bought' them saying.....
i've an unpaid case opened due to your item Im meant to have bought. im very sorry but i don't know what has happened i never brought or knowingly agreed to buy this? please can you advise because its of no use to me many thanks.
So, is this feasible? I really dont want to hit this guy with a strike if he is telling the truth, but cant really say any other way to get my fee's back since I have opened a case. Its the second time this has happened on this item (first time guy was honest, and just said he didnt need it any more, its a car part).

No he is trying it on, this is a variation of my cat, baby or dead aunt bid.
Just close the case on day 4 ( as soon as you can). You can reply to the buyer saying that maybe he needs to speak to ebay if he feels someone else has access to his account in case there are any other issues. Do Not mention the strike and be syrupy sweet and really understanding.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Be carefull though that he doesn't just pay to avoid the strike then return it to you as snad. Another case of why i think the system is flawed.0

Just ignore their message, replying will only cause more issues, just close the UID on day 4.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
