    Loft Insulation as your walls won't have cavities.

    Mine's Victorian, ands has cavity walls, and cavity wall insulation.

    If the OP has sash windows, I'd recommend secondary double glazing too. And draught proofing doors, and blocking unused chimneys. Unfortunately, I think she'll have to pay for all those herself.
