Our friend had an accident in his van.
The van was being paid for on a loan. It was a write off.
The insurance company have paid the loan company a write off sum but it leaves a large defecit he still has to pay the loan company.
The van is still with the garage who wrote it off.
They have said that if it is not collected in 60 days they will be charging him for storage.
Who owns the van now?
How can he be charged storage for something written off?

It belongs to the insurer.
A salver will be appointed by the insurer and will collect it from the place it's currently stored.

Once he has given them the V5C, keys, MOT etc and they have settled the claim, his responsibility for the vehicle should have ended.I am a mortgage broker.
