Land of Leather - Faulty Sofa

I don't know if anyone can relate to this.....?
Bought a lovely brown leather sofa from Land of Leather in August last year. We noticed around Christmas that there were patches of orange appearing under the brown.
We contacted Customer Services who sent someone out, who did a report, bla bla. Anyway, I recieved a phonecall from Land of Leather informing me that our sofa's were indeed faulty and that the brown leather dye had not been sealed properly.
All they will offer us is exchange for another sofa. If the other sofa is a cheaper sofa we would get a credit note. If it is a more expensive sofa, obviously we would have to pay the difference. (Bear in mind we have only owned them 6 months).
There are only a couple of suites they have in stock that are similar to our lovely sofa. One is more expensive and one is less expensive. We do not have the money for the more expensive one and we would have no use for the credit note once we already have sofa's!!
We have sent a few letters asking for a full refund now. The last letter I sent actually threatened the small claims court - which I fully intend to do.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem with Land of Leather and what were your results???

They are entitled to offer a replacement but it must be a suitable one, i.e. like-for-like or as near as possible. They do not have to give you a more expensive sofa, but equally they cannot force you to accept this and pay more.
If a suitable sofa is not available, then you can pursue rescission of the contract, which is basically a refund less an amount for any use you have had from the product. As there has only been 6 months use any deduction should be fairly small.0 -
All is good!!
I told them I was taking them to a small claims court and they have agreed to refund me the difference.
